Leopard is KP Labs’ high-performance Data Processing Unit (DPU) engineered for Micro and Mini satellite platforms, offering up to 3 TOPS of onboard AI acceleration in a compact PC-104 form factor. It supports real-time data processing tasks such as image classification, anomaly detection, and compression using deep learning models from frameworks like TensorFlow and Caffe. This enables satellites to autonomously analyze and respond to data in orbit, reducing latency and dependency on ground stations.
Designed with versatility and mission resilience in mind, Leopard integrates multiple interfaces including CAN, LVDS, SPI, RS422/485, and optional SpaceWire or Ethernet, making it adaptable to a wide range of payloads and satellite buses. Its proven flight heritage—such as in the Intuition-1 mission and LeopardISS aboard the ISS—demonstrates its reliability in space-grade AI applications.
